On March 8, the Transit Alliance held a private members-only dinner with Bruce McCuaig, President and CEO of Metrolinx. Members got the opportunity to rub shoulders with others in the industry and brainstorm ideas to help develop innovative transit technologies and pay for new mobility hubs.
Mr. McGuaig answered pointed questions from moderator Brian Crombie and other dinner participants with genuine honesty. He said that while others may think RER and other transit developments were slowing down, or halting all together, there was actually a lot of work being done behind the scenes to keep things moving. He also stressed the importance of exploring revenue tools in order to make these types of development sustainable.
