During Transit Alliance’s Green Cities conference, the transit panel — consisting of Dianne Saxe, Ontario Environmental Commissioner; Bruce McCuaig, CEO of Metrolinx; Mary-Margaret McMahon, Toronto city councillor; and David Paterson, VP Corporate and Environmental Affairs for GM Canada — discussed technology and transit planning. Specifically, they focused on the impact of a shared-economy on transit planning and building. In this instance, most welcomed companies like Uber and Lyft and talked about adapting to this new transportation trend.
