The Transit Alliance hosted its first annual Green Cities conference earlier this year. Over 300 people participated in the discussion, brainstorming and asking questions of expert panelists. There were two panels — one on transit and the other on city building. Toronto City Planner Jennifer Keesmaat spoke as a keynote, announcing the King St. Pilot program.
The transit panel was the first event of the conference. The panelists included Dianne Saxe, Ontario Environmental Commissioner; Bruce McCuaig, CEO of Metrolinx; Mary-Margaret McMahon, Toronto city councillor; and David Paterson, VP Corporate and Environmental Affairs for GM Canada.
