During Transit Alliance’s Green Cities conference, the transit panel — consisting of Dianne Saxe, Ontario Environmental Commissioner; Bruce McCuaig, CEO of Metrolinx; Mary-Margaret McMahon, Toronto city councillor; and David Paterson, VP Corporate and Environmental Affairs for GM Canada — discussed technology and transit planning. The conversation shifted towards autonomous vehicles and what difference it will make in how municipalities plan their transit system.

Here are two responses, one from Paterson and one from Saxe, about the role autonomous vehicles will play in transit planning.
